Swing...and a miss!

James Comer is nothing if not dogged, and I'm not talking about his face.  Today he announced, "The House Oversight Committee is releasing subpoenaed bank records that show Hunter Biden's business entity, Owasco PC, made direct monthly payments to Joe Biden."  Yes, Hunter set up "recurring payments" of $1,380 in 2018, when Joe Biden was between jobs.  He was repaying his father money lent him for his car payments when Hunter was between jobs.  Three monthly payments of a total of $4,140.00.  Clarence Thomas wouldn't bend over to pick up a bribe that size.  Poor, stupid, increasingly desperate James Comer.  By next week he'll have video of father and son having lunch in 2019 and Hunter paying the check.

I don't care for one-sided battles, so I have never watched Christopher Hitchens "debate" Al Sharpton and I also avoided Gavin Newsom's aggravated pantsing of Ron DeSantis (and a side order of Sean Hannity).  DeSantis's campaign, Never Back Up or whatever it's called, has been hemorrhaging staff and donors for weeks and steadily losing polling ground to -- Vivek Ramaswamy?  It's a dead cert that no one will be eating pudding with their fingers in the Oval Office any time soon.  But all true Republiclowns live in Bizarroworld, so DeSantis is boasting about how he not only won but ended Newsom's chances for the Democratic nomination, which he doesn't happen to be seeking.  And because the mismatch was held at the Fox News Arena, any number of viewers have now been exposed to facts for the first time since they mislaid the remote.  It's like introducing a command into the Borg collective mind.

Another field where the governissimo will never catch Trump is delusion.  Twitler told some microcephalics in Iowa, "I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, I'm going to be the scorekeeper here, I think we would win [New York and California]."  Full score for incoherence and blasphemy, deducting points for geography and grammar.

Liz Cheney has been warning that another Trump administration would represent "sleepwalking into dictatorship," and that triggered the Palmetto State Cassandra, Lindsey Graham:  "The world will truly be on fire," he warned Cheney on CNN, if we have to endure another four years of economic growth, infrastructure repair and Obamacare.  It was scary, and kind of sad.

"Is this where I sign up for the three-way?"

If you want to send a personalized greeting in this joyful season, and the wait for Rudolph Giuliani is too long, meet new client George Santos.  For a very reasonable $200 Cameo will hook you up with the veteran Congressman and African explorer.  He calls himself "the expelled member of Congress from New York City," which is a generous description of the north shore of Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk Counties).  Yes, he can't even keep from lying about that.

Like the empty chair in the Cratchit household, there will be a vacant lectern at the next Republican debate:  Doug Burgum has ended his campaign.  For president.  Burgum from North Dakota.  Looks like Mitt Romney if the birds got at him.  Burgum.  The dream of a Burgum-Hutchinson ticket dies hard.
