 A year ago two dancers from American Ballet Theater danced to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" in the White House and nobody seemed to mind.


Despite their broad smiles it's a melancholy song and Dr. Jill Biden decided the nation and the world needed something a little livelier at the end of this dark and bloody year.  So she invited Dorrance Dance to send some of its young tappers to perform "Dance of the Floreadores" (you may know it as "Waltz of the Flowers") from Nutcracker.  MAGA lost its mind like Pavlov's dogs hearing the dinner bell.  She's not a doctor of education for nothing.

"It did not acknowledge the word 'Christmas' or the birth of Jesus Christ," moaned the Washington Examiner.  Yeah, have you ever seen The Nutcracker?  It's as secular as Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.  Other critics were somehow reminded of The Hunger Games and A Clockwork Orange.  From far-off Australia Murdoch's Sky News chimed in:  "Off the wall bonkers!"

All the videos on YouTube appear to have been posted by the hate community (New York Post, Fox News, Breitbart) so I can't very well use one.  Nobody is talking about the real outrage:  Black and white dancers tapping!  A female Nutcracker!  A dance company that lists antiracism as one of its goals!  Forcing America to listen to music by Tchaikovsky (gay probably) as arranged by Duke Ellington (Black) and Billy Strayhorn (gay definitely)!  Big hats!  Melania von Trump would never!  Dr. Biden sure can push their buttons.

 With Trump and his silk pajamas in recess, the political story of the day must be  Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,  sharing the story that a worm crawled into his brain, ate some of it and died.  The New York Times says it obtained a deposition from his 2012 divorce case and came across this nugget.  At the time of the parasite's discovery, doctors said he also had mercury poisoning, probably from eating a lot of fish.  In the deposition Kennedy says, "I have short-term memory loss and I have longer-term memory loss that affects me."  At least he doesn't blame the worm on vaccines.  Even before his stalking horse earned the nickname Worm Brain, things were going Trump's way.  His boutique judge  Aileen Cannon  postponed indefinitely the stolen documents case that mean old Jack Smith is waiting to present because she has to study eight pending motions from the defense and she's just stumped by their  "novel and difficult questions." ...
