Truth decay

 "Medical staff are still required to treat veterans regardless of race, color, religion and sex, and all veterans remain entitled to treatment.  But individual workers are now free to decline to care for patients based on personal characteristics not explicitly prohibited by federal law.  Language requiring healthcare professionals to care for veterans regardless of their politics and marital status has been explicitly eliminated."

Explicitly eliminated in yet another probably illegal executive order from Dear Leader.  It means that if you're a Democrat or unmarried or transgender or have any other condition they disapprove of, individual doctors, dentists, psychologists and presumably faith healers recruited by the surgeon general can thank you for your service and kick you out the door.   This did not come up yesterday when Dear Leader was extolling our great soldiers, or using them as MAGA props at Fort Bragg.  

The VA's list of reasons veterans cannot face discrimination no longer includes politics, marital status or national origin.  Same for people applying for staff positions.  Probably the next batch of exclusions will be asking if the person believes the 2020 election was not stolen or thinks J.D. Vance has ever had carnal knowledge of upholstered furniture.  Remember how the MAGA hive would erupt every time one of them was indicted -- "weaponizing the Justice Department"?  This is weaponizing the Department of Veterans Affairs, whose writ is to care for those who have borne the battle without asking how they voted.

Trump got over his disappointment at his flop parade the way he always does, by posting verbal waste products through the night.  As funeral plans were made for one Democratic legislator and another recovered from multiple gunshot wounds in the hospital, he had moved on:  

"Every day, the Brave Men and Women of ICE are subjected to violence, harassment, and even threats from Radical Democrat Politicians, but nothing will stop us from executing our mission, and fulfilling our Mandate to the American People.  In order to achieve this we must expand our efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America's largest Cities, such as Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside.  These. and other such Cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Center, where they use Illegal Aliens to expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State, robbing good paying Jobs and Benefits from Hardworking American Citizens."

As Mary McCarthy said of Lillian Hellman, every word is a lie including "a" and "the."  Nobody is attacking the masked, armed ICEstapo goons, non-citizens are not voting, and those "good paying Jobs" as casual day laborers and house cleaners come with no benefits, unless you mean no withholding for income tax or Social Security because it's a handful of cash.  Trump is a lying pile of ordure but he's not through:

"These Radical Left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our Country and actually want to destroy our Inner Cities..." and we know how much Trump cares about the "Inner Cities" and the people who live there.  "There is something wrong with them.  That is why they believe in Open Borders, Transgender for Everybody, and Men playing in Women's Sports."  I was wondering when he would "weave" into that.  Nothing about how Joe Biden has always been "not the sharpest bulb"?

There is more, help yourself.  He's going to end "Mass Destruction Migration that has turned once Idyllic Towns into scenes of Third World Dystopia."  Big words from such a small mind.  Sounds suspiciously like the most notorious graduate of Santa Monica High.  

Trump had nothing to say about the Minnesota shootings, probably because Vance Boelter, now in custody, is quintessential MAGA, not to mention white and native born.  Asked if he has spoken to Governor Walz, he responded, "Well, it's a terrible thing.  I think he's a terrible governor.  I think he's a grossly incompetent person.  But I may, I may call him, I may call other people, too."  What does Walz's ability as a governor have to do with Saturday's murders?  I'm glad you asked.  You see, Boelter once served on a 41-person bipartisan business development board and every governor including Walz had to sign off on him.  To the MAGA hive mind this makes Boelter a "Marxist" and Walz a co-conspirator in the murders.  It doesn't have to make sense.  It isn't supposed to make sense.  It only makes sense to the incomparably stupid Mike Lee:

By the way, Melissa Hortman's golden retriever Gilbert was also shot, probably while trying to protect her.  Gilbert had to be euthanized.  Boelter wins the Kristi Noem Medal for Mindless Cruelty.

Trump then flew to Alberta on his old, tired plane with the slippery steps to turn allies into enemies at the G7.  He'll have plenty to say to Emmanuel Macron, who arrived via Nuuk, Greenland, where he offered to conduct joint France-Greenland exercises to improve the island's security after Hegseth refused to rule out the possibility of a US invasion.  The America First gang, who spent the weekend denouncing American involvement in the escalating war between Iran and Israel, become strangely silent when their Leader proposes dragging some country into the Union against its will.  

G7 got off to a weird start.  Trump was running through his deranged monologue about how Joe Biden allowed (invited?) "murderers, killers, people from gangs, people from jails" into the country when Mark Carney "exercised his role as chair" and politely moved Grandpa away from the microphone, pleading time pressure.  I don't envy the six who have to spend the week in Kananaskis listening to him boast about his flat tire of a parade and whine about how he doesn't get enough credit for making the sun come up every morning.  

On the lighter side of depravity, Trump's pick for chair of the FAA, Bryan Bedford, appears to have lied about holding a commercial pilot's license.  Bedford is CEO of Republic Airlines but Trump apparently spotted him when he impersonated a flight attendant on the reality show "Undercover Boss."  Funny, recruiting from TV has always worked out in the past.  And who better to regulate aviation than an airline CEO with a distant relationship to the truth?  Now just imagine if the millions Saturday's "festivities" cost had been spent upgrading airport radar.

By Mr. Pierce's account the parade was as dreary as every photograph made it look.  Bands were promised but only recorded music was provided.  Soldiers could hardly be bothered to walk in step.  "Joyless, lifeless and sterile."  Call-outs to commercial sponsors, just like the Easter egg roll -- in Trumpomoskovia everything must be monetized and The Leader must take his slice.  People waiting in line were watching NO KINGS events on their phones.  Enviously?  "At any rate the fireworks were pretty cool."  It's hard to louse up fireworks.  They probably hired professionals like the Grucci family, who do New York City's July 4 spectacular every year.
