Good news:  Ultra-orthodox Rabbi Meir Mazuz, who blamed covid on gay pride parades and said Israeli soldiers had a right to rape Palestinian women, is dead.

Sad news:  Pope Francis died.  One inbred Georgia degenerate celebrated.

Funny news:  Kristi Noem was dining in a Washington restaurant when "an unknown white male wearing a medical mask" made off with her purse.  Contents included her driver's license, keys, medication, DHS access badge, makeup, blank checks and $3,000 in cash.  Homeland Security?  She couldn't even secure her own handbag.


Unexpected news:  John "No Relation to Roadkill Bob" Kennedy says the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia resulted from "a screwup" by The Leader, who will never admit it.  He even opposes deporting American citizens, a radical departure from his cult's hive-mind.

Other screwup news:   Jose Hermosillo, an American citizen from Albuquerque, was visiting Arizona without carrying his passport.  ICE thugs arrested him for looking foreign and held him for ten days, later lying that he "admitted" entering the country illegally.  

Want more screwup news?  Two German teenagers, Charlotte Pohl and Maria Lepere, were arrested in Hawaii, strip-searched, body-scanned and forced to sleep on moldy mattresses before being deported.  Because they had no hotel bookings, ICE accused them of coming here to work illegally.  International Business Times recounts this and other outrages and notes laconically that tourism to the US has declined.  MAGALOHA.

Predictable news:  After his homily about "our lord and savior Jesus Christ" The Leader decided he could afford to skip church.  He celebrated Easter with the expected hate-filled rant, not forgetting to lie repeatedly about the man who made him a loser, Joe Biden.


Then he ordered flags lowered out of respect for "His Holiness Pope Francis."

Creepy news:  The regime is considering ways to encourage women to breed, including cash bribes of $5,000 per successful delivery (enough to support a child for about two months), Fulbright scholarship set-asides for parents, and a program to "educate women on their menstrual cycles" so they know when they are ovulating.  At the same time Head Start has been destroyed, Medicaid is under attack, and the parental leave enjoyed by new parents in Europe is not even on the table.  Mixed signals?

They're contemplating, I swear, a National Medal of Motherhood...


...presumably with an eagle instead of a swastika.  Come on, ladies, don't make us outlaw contraception, too.

A day that ends in a "Y" news:  The financial markets are plummeting again and The Leader has decided to blame Fed chairman Jerome Powell, who he is powerless to fire.  Meanwhile his new squeeze, purple-haired weirdo Laura Loomer, says all his troubles are down to "uppity blacks" in the Treasury Department.  No names of said uppity blacks were provided.


Signalgate Redux:  Pete Hegseth is bad at keeping secrets.  He just had to hold a second Signal chat about his big raid on Yemen, this time including his wife, lawyer and brother and some guy who was delivering a case of, uh, personal liquid supplies.  No journalists, no harm, no foul, right?

And in conclusion:  Canadian MP Charlie Angus thanked "malignant narcissistic slug" Trump for "bringing Canada together."  Why is this man an MP instead of the PM?

 The story so far...on the night of September 26 Hurricane Helene ignored the projections and thundered past Georgia, knocking out electricity.  Power was restored late on the afternoon of September 29, but internet took considerably longer.  Today we gave up on Comcast and shelled out for one of those AT&T hotspot deals, and just like that...well, I feel like Sweeney Todd ("At last, my arm is complete again!").  Thanks to MarkS for your words of concern.   I've spent the last four hours trying to catch up.  I can't decide whether two weeks without internet, cable and even radio has been a vacation or a nightmare.  My impression is that everything is the same only more so, politically speaking, possibly a little more surreal.  Are people really refusing FEMA aid because the cult has convinced them it's a plot to a. channel money to cat-eating Haitians, b. a plot to disguise the Democrats' control of the weather, or c. a plot to distract e...
