White only

How has Draft Dodging Donny trashed America today?

Information on black and female veterans has been purged from the Arlington National Cemetery website.  As of this writing the veterans themselves have not been disinterred, but it's still morning.

Of course, burial at Arlington was not a goal for a great many of them.  Some were drafted into the army between 1863 and 1973, often because their families were not able to send them to college.  In the era of the "all volunteer" military, some enlisted because service was a path to higher education or better chances of employment, or the military itself seemed like a good career choice.  A few were ordered to join up by judges, as an alternative to jail.  Since the Lee plantation became a cemetery we have honored them all equally, generals and buck privates, Sad Sacks and Medal of Honor recipients, side by side.

Big changes coming.  The General Services Administration has advised all civil federal agencies that segregation is back.  Since 1965 federal contractors have been forbidden under the Federal Acquisitions Regulation to segregate facilities including work areas, housing, restaurants and transportation based on "race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin."  Back we go to 1955, to "we don't serve your kind," to "a white man needs that seat," to "I'm sorry, we never hire people of the Hebrew persuasion," to "no vacancies" for blacks."  Fred Trump would be proud.

Nor does it end there.  The New Nazism leaches into the private sector.  The dean of Georgetown Law School had to tell Ed Martin, Acting (because probably unconfirmable) US attorney for DC, that the First Amendment prohibits him from telling a private institution to scrap its policy of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion or the federal government won't hire graduates.  William Treanor called it "an attack on the University's mission as a Jesuit and Catholic institution."  Missouri ("We were racist even before 2025!") is suing Starbucks because its policy of matching employees' charitable contributions bars organizations designated as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center.  The coffee outfit also partners with the Human Rights Campaign, another target of trumpian malice.  Private is no longer private, according to the mob intent on shredding the public sector.  No one is safe.

Major league baseball has since 1922 enjoyed an exemption from antitrust laws (a decision written by Oliver Wendell Holmes, no less).  Since ending racial segregation in 1947, it has struggled to reverse years of inequality.  We know The Leader follows baseball to the extent of promising a posthumous pardon for his fellow felon Pete Rose and demanding "Charlie Hustle" be admitted to the Hall of Fame.  No reason for that antitrust exemption to be challenged before a much more compliant Supreme Court.  He just needs baseball to do him one favor.

Don't be surprised if the record is to be purged of DEI players like Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente and Bob Gibson.  You'll be amazed how much better the Marv Throneberrys and Ed Kranepools look without this unfair competition.  All over the majors players are wearing Babe Ruth's number 3.  Why should Jackie Robinson's 42 be the only one retired by every club?  Why does he even have a day when Nolan Ryan and Cal Ripken don't?  Reverse discrimination!  The DoD has scrubbed Robinson from its website -- MLB must do the same.

Play ball.  Or else.
