I wasn't aware that Air Force Two is polished to a mirror shine which reflects people standing some yards away.  It's so obviously fake I have decided to vote for Jill Stein, who is currently auditioning only Palestinian Americans to be her running mate.  Ethnicity should always decide such matters.

The Paris Olympics, which ended last night with a deeply confusing ceremony, were judged successful in records broken, weird sports showcased, celebrities created (Stephen Nedoroscik, the pommel horse guy) and religious nuisances annoyed, but Trump had to shove his way in.  First he joined other misinformed spectators in condemning the opening tribute to Dionysus and now he wants full credit for securing the 2028 Games for Los Angeles after Obama decided he had better things to do.  Needy is not a strong enough word.

It must be a quiet news day, because the Guardian had room for an article about the "dance" Trump performs at his hate rallies.  "It's rare to see someone dancing with a scowl on their face," Adam Gabbatt writes, before quoting a dance coach who calls the performance "robotic."  That's probably it.  Like humor, dancing is something humans do.


Someone called Matt has posted what he says is a picture of J.D. Vance in drag during law school.  All I can say is, Rudolph Giuliani put a lot more time and effort into it.  When will the blackface photos surface?

Vladimir Putin is looking extremely bilious about the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk, which has caused at least 100,000 Russians to flee.  "The enemy, with the help of its western masters, is trying to improve its negotiating position in the future," was the best he could manage.  I wonder what Trump thinks of his smart, tough ally now.

Stand back, Jeremiah Wright -- according to Newsmax clown Tom Basile, Kamala Harris's Baptist pastor Amos Brown is even more "radical."  No details given but we'll doubtless hear more about his out-there positions on homelessness or welcoming immigrants as the summer wears on.  Now, is it true her hairdresser used to listen to KPFA Pacifica?

If you're a good, stock-owning American you may want to think about selling your Trump Media shares -- ooh, too late.  TMTG is down to $23 today, possibly because of the new partnership between Trump and Elon Musk.  In return for what promises to be a hard-hitting interview, Trump has resumed posting on Twitter and has taken out an ad.  It looks like a tacit admission that TRUTH SOCIAL is about to join Trump Air, Trump Steaks, the Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Water and the rest of his abject failures in the dumpster of capitalism.

Invest in Kraft Heinz.  They're rushing a ketchup shipment to Motel a Lago.

We're in trouble.  MAGA has unleashed James Comer, who had no success (but caused much hilarity) with his attempts to impeach Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Commander Biden and [insert name here] Biden.  Undiscouraged, he promises an investigation into Kamala Harris and The Border.  He's very concerned about the cost of migrants to Medicaid, public schools, and MAGA governors shipping them to New York, Washington and Martha's Vineyard.  No, wait, not that last one.  Oversight!

On ABC News Jonathan Karl asked J.D. Vance about racist comments made about his wife by Trump dinner companion Nick Fuentes.  Vance would only say that he admires Trump because "he actually will talk to anybody."  Declining to defend your wife is known in the business as "doing a Ted Cruz."

Reaching into the bottom of the barrel, Trump says Kamala Harris doesn't want anyone to say "Merry Christmas."  Is this thing over yet?  Can we vote now and stop listening to this piece of shit forever?

 The story so far...on the night of September 26 Hurricane Helene ignored the projections and thundered past Georgia, knocking out electricity.  Power was restored late on the afternoon of September 29, but internet took considerably longer.  Today we gave up on Comcast and shelled out for one of those AT&T hotspot deals, and just like that...well, I feel like Sweeney Todd ("At last, my arm is complete again!").  Thanks to MarkS for your words of concern.   I've spent the last four hours trying to catch up.  I can't decide whether two weeks without internet, cable and even radio has been a vacation or a nightmare.  My impression is that everything is the same only more so, politically speaking, possibly a little more surreal.  Are people really refusing FEMA aid because the cult has convinced them it's a plot to a. channel money to cat-eating Haitians, b. a plot to disguise the Democrats' control of the weather, or c. a plot to distract e...
