Some folks
Two weeks ago at the Lake Church in Bladen County, North Carolina, Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson told his audience, "Some folks need killing! It's time for somebody to say it. It's not a matter of vengeance. It's not a matter of being mean or spiteful. It's a matter of necessity."
Apparently his words rang a bell with Thomas Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Yesterday he shot Trump and the Secret Service killed him. The thing about "Second Amendment solutions" is that they tend to rebound. What if someone decides Mark Robinson needs killing? Or his opponent? With over 300 million guns in private hands and ammunition now available from vending machines, it's surprising this doesn't happen more often.
Count on two things.
1. As after the attempted assassinations of Ronald Reagan and Steve Scalise, Republican gun policy will not change one iota.
2. Trump will fund-raise off this, if he hasn't already.
