Am I alone in here?

For two days the official media (as opposed to us gnomes down here in Blogenheim) worried about Trump's "bloodbath" threats in Ohio.  Did he mean economic harm to the auto industry?  Surely he wasn't calling on his supporters to kill Democrats like that Morrow person in North Carolina.  When he assembled a mob within sight of the Capitol and told them to "fight like hell" he certainly didn't mean they should break windows and assault police...heavens.  What exactly is a bloodbath?  Etc., etc.  Nobody mentioned the bizarre episode a few minutes earlier, when Trump said that "Joe Biden won against Barack Hussein Obama."  Has his mental incompetence become so ordinary that we don't even take note?  Did he mean the 2008 primaries?  Was it a Nancy/Nikki moment when the right name wouldn't come?  HELLO?

Speaking of Michele Morrow, she has stopped calling for pay-per-view executions of Democrats and will only utter inanities about "quality education."  She is said to be a nurse but responded to the Biden administration's 2021 mask recommendations with "We need to follow the constitution's advice and KILL ALL TRAITORS!!!"  Must be a different edition from mine.  Her own children are homeschooled, crom help them.  She was at the January 6 coup attempt but was "frustrated and disgusted" when her fellow Trumpanzees smashed their way into the Capitol.  The Moms for Libertinage have given her their blessing.  Qanon Qhristian?  Why do you ask?

Interesting photo of Emmanuel Macron working the heavy bag.  From this angle you can't tell if Candace Owens's face is on it.

The current keep-the-lights-on government spending bill has $300 million for Ukraine (against the $60 billion proposed last fall) and Putin's little puppets like Andy Ogles are already griping about it.  At least you gave the boss a free hand up till now, Andy.  Is Ogles your real name?  Do you know Tim Burchett, fellow Tennessean and purveyor of Russian propaganda?

Jason Riley says he is angry that the murder of his daughter Laken is being "politicized."  He probably should have anticipated something like that when he and the Riley family posed for their Christmas card with this grifter --

-- who promptly used it for fundraising purposes.

Trump doesn't stop slandering people just because they're retired (Anthony Fauci) or dead (John McCain).  Today it was Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs, blamed again for the unruly American withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago.  No other reason, it was just his turn.

Imagine being so rich that you don't immediately miss several million dollars.  Shohei Ohtani doesn't have to imagine.  Other employees had to tell him that his interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, seems to have informally borrowed millions of dollars to bet with a bookmaker in California, where sports betting is illegal.  He couldn't drive a few hours to Las Vegas?  Were the bookie's odds that much better?  Ohtani has played here for seven years and he still needs an interpreter?  Every Colombian immigrant is supposed to master English overnight, according to Bernie Moreno.

Chinese spies are here, stealing our "genetics."  Oh, no, never mind, it's product spokeswoman and part-time governor Kristi Noem.  Never mind.

She could have said no.  She could have invoked attorney-client privilege.  But when Martha MacCallum asked if Trump was begging Russia or Saudi Arabia to cover his $454 million bond Alina Habba -- who I guess is his senior lawyer at this point -- she started jabbering about "rules" and "strategy."  Not surprisingly, Susan Rice thinks it would be bonkers to offer a national security briefing to someone beholden to another country.  Unless they just show him pictures and a list of capital cities and principal exports.  "Man...woman...Bundestag...Rhineland...camel."

This week the Republicans' New Deal target is the 1935 National Labor Relations Act.  A Georgia law would deny state subsidies to any company that recognizes its workers' union without putting up a fight.  For freedom, of course.  I can already hear Gorsuch upholding it.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) shows off his Vladimir Putin mask on the way to the House Oversight and Deflated Impeachment Committee.  He stayed in character.  I want one.
