What's wrong with these people?

In the forty years since the Golden Age of Reagan de-regulation airlines have instituted extra charges for practically everything.  By 2010 the practice had spread to other countries, like low-cost carrier Ryanair's attempt to charge passengers to use the toilet.  (This was abandoned after public outcry.)  US airlines, I was mildly surprised to learn, often charge extra to guarantee that adults flying with children will be guaranteed seats together.  Yesterday President Biden tweeted, "It's time all airlines offered fee free family seating."  (Some already do -- the Department of Transportation has a chart.)  Who could find this objectionable?

Who do you think?  Margie Greene, of course.  "Joe Biden using his power as president to demand that kids eat free at all restaurants too?" she snarled, followed by another irrelevant complaint about "THE BORDER."  Biden never suggested that kids fly free, or even have their bags fly free; they just want to sit with mom and dad.  He didn't issue an executive order, he (or a staff member) used social media to support a bill submitted to Congress by Secretary Buttigieg.  Margie's language skills were on display last week when she struggled over a word much in the news, "in-dickt-ment."  Her reading comprehension is not much better, and she doesn't give a damn about people whose travel expenses are not covered by the taxpayers.  She should save up some bile for SOTU, when she will doubtless sit in the gallery (perhaps dressed as a Rio Grande alligator this year) and boo Biden's Cancer Moonshot.

Loathsome knows no borders.  Piers Morgan is the Sean Hannity of British TV and he sat down for an interview with Prime Minster Rishi Sunak, who faces an uphill battle -- think Edmund Hillary -- in this year's general election.  After a swipe at Keir Starmer, they engaged in the sort of conversation Lenny Bruce parodied long ago.  Morgan brought up his (Indian) handyman, his mother and "an Indian doctor in Kensington," you get the idea.  He even asked Sunak whether he roots for the UK or India in cricket.  Then it was time for Sunak's immigration policy, which involves dumping asylum seekers in Rwanda.  He bet the PM a thousand pounds that not one person would be deported before the election.  Because it's good sport for rich Britons to wager on the fate of the desperate.

The GOP can't decide which ethnic slur to use against Alejandro Mayorkas as they push on with impeachment efforts while blocking border legislation.  After Mark Green (R-TN) called him "a reptile with no balls" a White House spokesman had to point out that this is antisemitic, sending along a descriptive from the American Jewish Committee.  Earlier the Gang of Putin had talked of wanting to "deport Mayorkas from his position," a barely concealed anti-Latino remark.  For the record, Mayorkas was born in Cuba to a Romanian who fled Europe before World War II.  It's so confusing.  This is why the white nationalists hate "miscegenation" above all else (see Obama, Barack).

Ted Cruz wants to spend millions of dollars to give members of Congress, cabinet members and federal judges security escorts and private airport screenings for their protection, and not at all to prevent embarrassing photos like this:

Ted thinks we forgot.  Also his dog, left behind in the unheated house.  We will never forget.
