The first casualty

 Where were you and what were you doing when Joe Biden attacked Israel?

Like his alter ego George Soros, Biden funds bad stuff.  He gave Hamas six million American tax dollars and told them how to evade Israel's vaunted "Iron Dome" defense system and then he went to the beach.

Actually none of that happened, but you won't hear different on Fox Noise, where he is old and weak and also a cunning mass murderer.  In the real world...

Hamas had clearly been planning its invasion/hostage taking/rocket attack on Israel for months, which points to the greatest intelligence failure since 1941, and that was largely a matter of Stalin refusing to notice the two million Germans assembling on his border.  As always, there was deep history that the 24-hour cable news never finds time to mention, like the millions of people crammed into Gaza and treated like intruders in their own country.  Maybe when the killing stops there will be time to think about whether this is a good idea.

The right, of course, which loves Israel on its own terms, can't wait to blame Biden.  Last August his administration unfroze six billion dollars in Iranian oil money to obtain the release of five hostages.  That money is still in a bank in Qatar, not in the hands of Iran or Hamas.  Fact.  Under the agreement, it can be used only for food and medical supplies.  Fact.

Seizing a chance to distract from his own legal catastrophes, most recently the jaw-dropping revelations about Anthony Pratt and the nuclear subs, Trump has been leading the mob with more lies than AI could fact-check if you fed it steroids and turned it up to eleven:  "ZERO CHANCE" the attack would have occurred if he had seized power on January 6 and "many reports are saying" it "came from the Biden administration."  And because his last brain cells are dying of loneliness, he also assured the poor people of Iowa that he has a better body than Biden and would definitely win a fistfight, and he has the endorsement of Hannibal Lecter.   We will have to wait for the autopsy to find out if Trump's dementia is the result of Adderall abuse, Alzheimer's or syphilis, but it really doesn't matter.

                                                                    

As of today, Israel is cutting off power, water and food to Gaza, a siege technique as old as the Assyrian empire.  We saw it last winter in Ukraine.  We will see it again.  Hamas threatens to kill more hostages in retaliation.  Another man with legal troubles, Benjamin Netanyahu, vows to "eliminate terrorists" -- another war on terror -- and blusters, "What we will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations."  He and Trump favor the same rhetoric textbook.  Civilians will be the principal victims of siege; they always are.  But according to the Israeli defense minister the people of Gaza are "human animals."  

Eleven Americans are dead and others are missing, so Biden has dispatched a carrier group to Israel, presumably to look for them.  No danger that this could lead to a wider war.  That might not be a bad thing if it ends Tommy Tuberville's treasonous undermining of the US military, but who's to say it would?  As Trump assured the Iowans, Democrats are aborting babies after they're born and that just has to stop.  Good thing presidents can make war without consulting Congress because half of it is on paid administrative leave, as they say about killer cops.  Kevin McCarthy has had time to think about it and says he'd return as Speaker if they want.  So far, not a lot of enthusiasm.

With a burst dam in northeast India and an earthquake in Afghanistan, the world has its hands full.  Think of donating to the relief agencies of your choice and ignoring what the politicians say.  In the end, they don't count.
